Costa Artabra
En esta ocasión arrancamos as actividades realizando una ruta de la costa ártabra por el concello de Ferrol. Iniciamos la andaina en el faro del cabo Prior. El cabo debido a su emplazamiento privilegiado sobre la entrada del golfo ártabro, fue utilizado para asentar tres baterías de Costa, hoy abandonadas y en estado ruinoso. Desde el alto del Coto da Vela se contemplan las tres, Prior Norte, Prior Alto y Antiaérea de Prior.
Descendemos hasta Punta Xarrido para visitar el túnel practicado en roca viva, que alojaba uno de los proyectores que se usaban para la localización de los barcos por la noche. Vamos bordeando las playas del Vilar, A Fragata y Esmelle, disfrutando del mar de fondo y fuerte viento que provocan olas de gran tamaño y espectacular belleza al romper en las playas.
Dejamos las dunas y remontamos un tramo del rio Xuntos donde un grupo de vecinos voluntarios recuperó y remozó parte de los 22 molinos harineros que hay en los cuatro regatos del valle de Esmelle. Retomamos el camino por el borde de las dunas hasta el extremo de la playa de San Jorge. Finalmente recorremos los acantilados hacia la playa de Doniños, acompañados de un mar embravecido que golpea los acantilados de la islas Herbosa y las Gabeiras, elevando el agua a gran altura. Naturaleza en estado puro.
